‎π—Ÿπ—œπ—§π—˜π—₯𝗔π—₯𝗬: “The Child I Was.” by Zia Reyes

Category: Poetry
‎Theme: A glimpse into the silent wounds of childhood.
‎In childhood, the aspirations were bright and good.
‎Yet faded beneath the weight of adulthood
‎In tender years, I tried to walk apart,
‎A lonely child, misread from the start.
‎Though loved by many, my spirit feels small,
‎Fragile within, like stone about to fall.
‎No star to shine—just a muted hue,
‎A quiet weight the world never knew.
‎Was it too early to whisper last goodbyes?
‎When silence smothered all the lullabies.
‎My pillow gathered tears the dark had kept,
‎Each echo fading where your comfort fled.
‎The child I was still hides inside,
‎Where pain and love have always been.
‎Though memories fade and years depart,
‎The child I was still holds my heart.
