Update: THE SPIRACLE - previously The Lycean Journal
While retaining its mantra, "Open eyes, open ears, open mind," The Spiracle is the new official publication of Lyceum of Alabang Inc. - Basic Education.
In definition, the spiracle is a respiratory organ that provides oxygen to the eyes and brain of a shark and allows it to take in water to breathe without having to open its mouth. Symbolically, The Spiracle likewise provides life to the eyes and the brain of a Lycean student as represented by the Shark Mascot.
It is the goal of these modifications to further improve the publication in all aspects, particularly on its sworn responsibility to serve the school through its God-given functions and opportunities.
THE LOGO
The logo of The Spiracle features a cartoon shark that holds different objects representing the different section of the publication. The logo is also enclosed in a golden field that embodies the shape of a shark's spiracle, which intends to showcase the dominant features of Lyceum of Alabang.
MOTTO
The motto of The Spiracle is "Open eyes. Open ears. Open mind." which indicates that the organization practices transparency. It also denotes that the outputs it publishes are fair and objective, applying ethical and moral considerations, and are sensitive to intercultural biases.
