It is undoubtedly true that the Sinulog Festival fever is now on fire.
"One vision, one dance, and one beat" is this year's theme for the month-long celebration of the Sinulog Festival. As it gained popularity throughout the world, Cebu City expanded this festival into a month-long celebration that featured a range of events, including street dancing, singing contests, beauty pageants, and an exhibit that highlighted the artistic side of the locals. In order to honor the Santo NiΓ±o, the Sinulog Festival is a traditional festive belief that takes place every third Sunday of January. This traditional festival has been held for 32 years to exhibit the world what Cebu City has to offer.
The word "sinulog" refers to a dance of gratitude that symbolizes the Cebu River's "sulog" also known as current. It is a dancing ritual that accepts and welcomes the city's Christianity. Due to the enormous number of people who want to attend the festival celebration in order to witness the splendor of the culture that it represents, together with Cebu's stunning beaches and their rich history, it is now labeled as their city’s proudest attraction.
