Manila, Philippines— Ms. Makati, Michelle Dee, shows what’s beyond beauty that a Filipina can offer as she joined the competition for the 2nd time and was crowned as the New Miss Universe Philippines 2023 on its grand coronation night on the 13th of May at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Ms. Makati was crowned by former Ms. Universe Philippines 2022—Celeste Cortesi together with the event’s special guest, a Filipino-American, Ms. Universe 2022—R’Bonney Gabriel.
Below is the list of winners for the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 coronation night:
Ms. Universe Philippines 2023: Makati
Ms. Supranational Philippines 2023: Bohol
Ms. Charm Philippines 2023: Baguio
1st runner-up: Zambales
2nd runner-up: Pampanga
Top 5 candidates (Baguio, Pampanga, Bohol, Zambales, and Makati) compete for the crown through the question and answer portion. The Q&A has two rounds, first is picking judges who would ask, and second is answering the same questions for the final Q&A battle.
Earlier in the coronation, top 10 were announced after the swimsuit competition. However, the coronation night sends mixed reactions to the audience as its host, Xian Lim, due to technical errors, announces that top 18 candidates will all grace their evening gowns and will compete for the final 5, just after announcing its top 10.
On the preliminary competition, Ms. Bohol—Paulin Amelinckx has garnered the most special awards. Ms. Makati, Ms. Pampanga, and Ms. Agusan Del Norte joined Ms. Bohol and have also received special awards.
