A fresh face emerges the TikTok world, and Abigail Marquez, popularly known as Lumpia Queen. A 23-year-old woman and a graduate of Hotel Restaurant and Institution Management (HRIM) at UP Diliman has taken the social media platform TikTok by storm.

She started uploading videos two years ago and her followers are now 2.9 million and her videos have garnered 72 million likes. The food content creator made her mark on the internet with her famous line “What will happen if we wrap this into lumpia wrapper?”. Her first video went viral and the viewers got hooked with the marshmallow and chocolate chips wrapped into a lumpia wrapper.

Her content, primarily centered on dishes that she can transform anything into a lumpia dish — peach mango pie, cheesy tuna pie, apple pie, buko pandan, and even sinigang and siomai.

Marquez’s excellent experimental cooking skills are absolutely no doubt, having a degree in HRIM from the University of the Philippines Diliman, where she graduated magna cum laude in 2022.

Growing up, she started exploring her cooking skills exactly at their house’s kitchen. She was never afraid to try experiments in their kitchen. Bread with adobong mani was one of her earliest culinary inventions, which she fondly recalls as "crunchy bread."

She sold home-baked goods and pastas and began to enter entrepreneurial skills at a young age.

Abi’s interest and experience with filmmaking from high school helped her succeed as a food content creator.

She had a successful run as a TikTok food content creator and has created new opportunities. She is ready to radiate vividly in the platforms with her new talent management agency NYMA, one of the brands under KROMA Entertainment, the new tradigital entertainment company backed by the ecosystem of the Globe Group.

Her contents was loved by many people and food enthusiasts including Erwan Heussaff of FEATR. She was invited as a guest in their youtube videos, cooking and sharing recipes.

Marquez’s bags this year’s TikTok “Food Content Creator of the Year”. She makes sure that she is providing a unique twist on the recipes to keep viewers interested. Despite her success, she is committed to give fresh and engaging content for her followers, still exploring experiments with new recipes.

For now, as the TikTok Lumpia Queen, she is still enjoying her life and open to upcoming opportunities.
