𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦: "Firing up the arena: UAAP Season 86 officially kicks off" by Isabel Diaz

With its league showcasing a glamorous opening ceremony after pre-pandemic set-up, the 86th season of University of Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) officially started this Saturday, September 30, at Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City.

This season’s theme of “Fueling the Future”, was opened by University of the East (UE) Red Warriors through a performance of modern ballet titled "Panunumbalik sa Sinimulan," which was choreographed by Gener Caringal.

The 20 minute performance featured the participation of the UE Silanganan Dance Troupe, UE Pep Squad, UE Drama Company, and UE Men's Volleyball team.

The UE men's basketball team captain, Abdul Sawat, led the oath of sportsmanship with 12 student-athletes from each of the eight participating schools.

"The purpose of this gathering is much-anticipated because it provides a colossal stage where many of the best Filipino athletes can showcase their talents and abilities," said UE President Dr. Zosimo Battad [1].

"We are truly blessed to witness the full on-site conduct of Season 86 of the UAAP on behalf of everyone at the University of the East," UE Vice Chairman David Chua added [1].

UAAP Fans can watch their favorite team games live, on-demand across various platforms, and via replays on both cable and free television.
