Filipino wakeboarding sensation Raph Trinidad made history on home waters by winning gold 2025 International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) Asia and Oceania Cable Wakeboard and Wakeskate Championships, on January 26.

Fighting through a highly-competitive match with Kyrgyzstan's Stanislav Fidelsky, Thailand’s Luke Atirat Carrick and Benjamin Phechyuenyong and Australia’s Zac Falzon and Lachlan Fort. His gold-medal win earned him a spot at The World Games 2025.

Trinidad shared, "Being surrounded by those who have supported me from the start made it even more special. It was an honor to represent my country, and the incredible support pushed me to give my best. I’m proud to bring this victory home.”

“Winning an international competition in my home park feels like a dream,” he added.

Trinidad’s victory was made even sweeter by his home crowd, who cheered him on as he battled the world’s best.

He also shared that during the competition, his focus was on executing his run as planned rather than chasing victory.

"In every competition, I always remind myself that my biggest competition is myself. As long as I land the run I planned, I’m already super happy no matter the outcome," stated Trinidad.

The Filipino wakeboarding sensation's latest victory adds to his already impressive record, which includes his podium finish at last year’s IWWF World Cable Wakeboard and Wakeskate Championships at Le Kable, Choisy le Roi in Paris.

The event was held at the Decawake Clark Cable Park in Angeles City, Pampanga from January 24-26.

This event served as the final qualifier for The World Games 2025, in August at Chengdu China.

There, Red Bull athlete Trinidad, scored an 81.67 in the open men’s category final to achieve his gold medal finish.

With his sights set on The World Games 2025, Trinidad is determined to push himself even further. Grateful for his fan’s unwavering support, he focuses on improving his skills as he takes on the world stage again.
