After the landfall of Typhoon Tino (Kalmaegi) in Cebu and other parts of Visayas, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) reported on Friday, November 7, 2025, that the death toll has risen to 188, with 135 people still missing, as the storm left widespread flooding, landslides, and destruction across Cebu, Negros Occidental, and Bohol.

OCD spokesperson Junie Castillo told GMA Integrated News’ Unang Balita in an interview that, based on OCD’s data as of 6 A.M., the reported fatalities have increased to 188.

“Pumasok na dito ‘yung mga numero, mga kababayan nating nasawi mula sa Negros Island Region. 'Yung Negros Island Region pa lang, that’s already 33, and Region 7 is 140,” he added.

Meanwhile, the search, rescue, and retrieval operations are still ongoing for the 135 persons reported missing—most especially in the Negros Island Region and Region 7; 56 are reported missing in the Negros Island Region, while 79 are from Region 7.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), 96 individuals have been reported injured and a total of 2,258,782 people, or 635,565 families across different regions, have been affected by the typhoon.

On the other hand, 397,634 individuals have been temporarily displaced and are currently staying in evacuation centers.

9,585 houses were destroyed, 9,321 were partially damaged, and 264 were completely destroyed. In addition, 74 roads and 10 bridges remain impassable due to damage.

Power supply in 58 out of 162 affected areas and communication lines in five out of 22 affected areas have already been restored, but water supply issues persist in 11 areas still struggling to recover.

The NDRRMC reported that a total of ₱111,123,620 worth of assistance has been provided to the victims of the typhoon and local governments and humanitarian organizations continue to conduct relief operations.

The national government has declared a state of calamity in the hardest-hit provinces to hasten recovery and rehabilitation efforts.
