MUNTINLUPA CITY - The students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders of Lyceum of Alabang are very fortunate to witness this year's Hiraya Theatre Production's original stage play 'Sina DASAL'. On May 19, 2019, the play production is brought to life at the DVA Gymnasium in front of the entire Lycean community. It is performed twice to cater to the big number of students; one at 11:00 AM and the second one is at 4:00 PM for those with evening schedule.
Penned and directed by Rommel "Chaps" Manansala, this original story tackles different themes surrounding a typical Filipino family composed of Sarah, the mother of three children who is diagnosed with dementia; Amana, the eldest, a nurse; Levy, a married man who continuously holds a grudge against his estranged father Solomon; and, Aaron, the youngest sibling with an ambition to go abroad.
Although aims to elicit tears from its viewers, the play also presents music, comedy and values integration, particularly with the side characters David and Simang.
'Sina DASAL' is a hybrid of everything where one is not sure about what the plot is really all about, but culminates into a celebration of family, love, forgiveness, and compassion. The play also offers tons of surprises that surely put its viewers on a standing ovation.
Surely, the Lycean community enjoys what their eyes and ears have received from 'Sina DASAL' that will stay in their hearts throughout the rest of their lives.
