LITERARY: "Love in the Sky" by Fatima Rigel Ong

Before Romeo and Juliet

Rose and Jack

And all the other lovers that did not end up

There was Altair and Vega

Their story may not have bathed in blood

It’s still agonizing as much

Two fated soul

Met an unforgiving wrath

Suffered under the rules of sky

Forbidden love by the empyrean

Star-crossed lovers indeed

Both were galad in the heavens

Made the galaxy a lot brighter

The two may be in the same sky

Still, they couldn’t be together

River of stars separated them

Their love’s promise must have touched the gods

Each year, on the 7th night of the 7th moon

A bridge of stars brought the two closer

A dawn for them to mark the end of an epoch

One night to ease their year long sorrow

One night to live again

Just one night to feel at home

No matter how long the wait was

If the two hearts had spoken an unbreakable vow

No time, distance, nor a storm could abate their love, somehow

Vega loved no one but him

Altair stayed leal, forever somniated her

She was everything to him

Has always been and always will be

So to this day, they still live their story
