Israel and Palestine are now at war because of spiralling violence sparked by unrest at Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
Gal Gadot, a 36 year old Israeli and "Wonder Woman" actress tweeted last Wednesday worrying and praying about her family and friends back in Israel. She also stated that, "My country is at war. This is a vicious cycle that has been going on for far too long. Israel deserves to live as a free and safe nation. Our neighbors deserve the same."
After Gadot posted her tweet, a lot of netizens expressed mixed feelings about the actress' message, including musician James Kennedy saying, "Gal Gadot is wrong." netizens says, "you can't even say the name of your "neighbors" which is very telling."
Given the polarizing nature of the situation, the reactions from some users were particularly angry, railing against Gadot for supporting “ethnic cleansing” and “mass genocide,” among other barbs, Bruce Haring said.
Others, supported Gadot’s call for peace, and noted that military service is required for all Israelis over the age of 18, NYP said on their report.
Still, the "Wonder Woman" actress disabled her comment section to stop the vitriolic reactions from netizens.
The on-going conflict in Israel and Palestine is still getting worse and worse every day. Prayers from all around the world are needed to bring peace and safety to the people affected by the war.
