The Lyceum of Alabang Inc. organized the Quiz Bee competition and awarding ceremony on June 4, the final day of the SHS Research Expo 2022. It was held at the school's AVR.
The event started with the welcoming remarks of the Masters of the Ceremony, Ms. Christelle Burgos and Mr. Cirilo Balao. After the welcoming remarks, they proceeded to the prayer, the national anthem, and the Lycean Hymn.
Before the awarding ceremony, the SHS Research Quiz bee happened first. The said quiz bee was only for bona fide Grade 11 students of the Lyceum of Alabang. There are a total of 13 participants from different strands. In the said quiz bee, there are 2 phases: the elimination phase and the final phase. Only the top 7 students will go to the final phase.
The contest started with the explanation of mechanics and proceeded with the elimination round. In the elimination round, only Sanchez, Garciano, Tolentino, Agbulos, Tambis, Loslos, and Villasaya make it to the final round.
The final phase consists of three rounds. The first round is the open chance, the next round is the extended chance, and the last one is no chance. After they went through the eye of a needle, Mr. Agbulos of the STEM strand made it to the top and was awarded as the champion of the competition. Next to him was Ms. Garciano of H.E, who was hailed as the first runner-up, and Mr. Loslos of the ICT strand, who was the second runner-up.
In the afternoon, after the Quiz Bee competition, the awarding ceremony took place. The event started with the opening remarks of SHS Principal, Mr. Calapan.
The first contest that has been awarded was the Quiz Bee competition. Next is the SHS Symposium, and then the poster presentation. The research teachers, the Spiracle, and the ROTC have also been acknowledged.
There will also be a new organization which was launched at the event. This student research organization has a name of YouRS.
