Manibela (Samahang Mananakay at Nagkaisang Terminal ng Transportasyon) is urging passengers to help them understand why its members had to cease operations this week due to the increase in fuel prices.
Manibela Chairman Mar Valbuena states on Monday, June 6, 2022 that pricing increases has reduced earnings for drivers and operators.
Some oil companies will raise gasoline prices by P2.70 per liter starting on Tuesday at 6 a.m., while diesel prices will rise by P6.55 per liter.
The organization is requesting that the terms of the fuel subsidy program be explained and distributed as quickly as possible, claiming that it will aid drivers affected by price rises.
Manibela is also urging the government, notably the Department of Energy, to investigate how the transportation sector can adapt as fuel costs rise.
