Theme: I watched the sun burn
"It's too bright." I whisper, gazing at the burning sun.
This hot scorching aura greeting my fragile skin as I remain still. Some say it burns their skin, leaving a harsh mark on their body, but maybe it's this mark that makes us feel human—that we're actually alive.
And it is this, the same star that has seen me through every season of change, making me feel alive despite remaining still, burning away with no change in itself. It has watched me through every peak and every valley, seeing my mortal life develop from childhood into adolescence in mere seconds.
The faded sunburns on my skin remind me of the moments they left a mark, from when I saw the sol as larger. Yet perhaps it's the sun's way of indicating that I've matured beyond those burns.
Now when I look up, it's still there. Older, quieter, but still burning. And I realize—we grew up together. I gradually gathered its burn scars on my skin, while it imprinted on me and awaited the arrival of a new day filled with light. A beautiful warm sun destined to witness both my personal journey and the collective fall of humanity for eternity.
If I could repay what it has given to me, I'd spread my ashes into the air, where the sun invigorates it with its stellar light, and let it see my final act after witnessing my development over the years.
The sun was relentless but faithful. It watched me grow, but yet I only saw it burn.
