The Supreme Student Government (SSG) of Senior High School (SHS) held its First General Assembly last December 5, 2022 at the Library Extension. The meeting started with an opening prayer led by Ms. Grace Marie Francisquete, the Gr. 12 P.I.O.

The main agenda of the assembly was about the discussion of Transparency Policy wherein they required every organization to file a financial report. This was discussed by Mr. John Lawrence Laygo, SSG Treasurer. The financial statement submitted by each organization will be confidential and transparent only to the SSG and other departments concerned, unless there is permission from the organization officers for the statement to be shared and released.

Proposed projects of the SSG were presented to the student leaders. Questions and clarifications were raised by different students throughout the meeting. One of their proposed projects is the “Betsing Koleksyon” wherein 25 cents must be put into a 1.5 bottle by each section. It will start in January 2023 and there will be a reward of a grocery package for the section who has collected the highest amount of centavos from the SSG. The said “BetsingKOLEKSYON" was explained by Ms. Andrea Jasmine Navarro, SSG Business Manager. This project aimed to solidify the importance of a centavo coin. "Dahil sa bentsinko, makakabuo tayo ng isang piso," Ms. Navarro claimed.

Mr. Dhaizkie Del Rosario, SSG Auditor, then discussed the next proposed project entitled "Peso Recycle". Each section must collect used pet bottles per week in a cardboard box. In addition, the students may design the pet bottles and turn them into usable recycled materials. The recycled bottles with the most creative design will be displayed for the Lycean community to see.

Rules and Regulations about wearing proper uniform were discussed by the SSG President, Ms. J-Ann Coleen Marquez. According to Ms. Marquez, the students must wear proper uniforms as indicated in the Lycean Times facebook page. Students are only allowed to wear their P.E. uniforms once they have their P.E. class on a designated day. Strand shirts and plain white t-shirts are deemed appropriate as a substitute for the students' official P.E. shirts. For students who still do not have the prescribed P.E. uniform, a white t-shirt and jogging pants can be worn. If there are some circumstances that the student is not able to wear his/her proper uniform, a formal excuse letter with photocopy of their parent’s ID and signature must be submitted.

Luke Maverick Mariano, SSG Internal Vice President, discussed the SSG's proposal of the 100-Peso Constitution and By-Laws (CBL) Fee to be collected from all SHS students to serve as the SSG's funding for their projects. The SSG then conducted a room-to-room survey on December 6-9 to discuss the CBL Fee with SHS students to collect their thoughts and opinions on the proposed project. The amount of the CBL Fee is not final and will still be further discussed by the SSG.

The assembly was attended by Presidents and Vice Presidents from different strands and organizations. “Sana magkaroon ng positive relationship sa bawat student leaders,” SSG President stated.
