Philippines' bet and a Lyceum of Alabang pride, Celeste Cortesi graced the stage as she walked in the preliminary round of the 71st Miss Universe competition, held in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The event started with the introduction of the candidates, followed by the swimsuit round, then the evening gown round. After that, the national costume round was held.
Celeste flaunted her physique in her pink two-piece and a cape with hand prints of the children from Save the Children Philippines.
Celeste's evening gown was made by Oliver Tolentino, a Los Angeles-based Filipino designer.
Meanwhile, in her national costume, Celeste shocked Filipinos with her Superhero Darna-inspired costume, which is also made by Oliver Tolentino.
Her Darna costume was paired with a headdress that symbolizes the sun on the Philippine flag. The headdress is made by Jerome Navarro.
