π—Ÿπ—œπ—§π—˜π—₯𝗔π—₯𝗬: "Greetings, My Old Friend" by Sean Estrada

Category: Poetry

Theme: Desperation

He has not visited me in a while;

I almost forgot what he looked like.

I saw him last when it was all stockpiled,

And, as I see him now, I am terrified.

I never thought that he'd show up to me again;

After all, we used to be somewhat friends—

He was the entity that could never faze me,

I was the bane of his existence: his misery.

As I look back at it now, I broke our deal;

Maybe I relied too much on a single loophole,

But what could I have done? It all felt so real...

At least, with his presence, I'll be consoled.

Reaper, I'm sorry for this breach of contract,

Apparently, I'm more human than we thought...

Please, let me have this while "it" is still intact—

After all, I'll be the one left to deal with the aftermath.
