MANILA, Philippines— In a do or die game, the Creamline Cool Smashers bag their 4th Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference Championship title after defeating the Petro Gazz Angels in four thrilling sets with a score of 20-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-15.
The players really stepped up their game as Jema Galanza led the team with 19 points, and an 18 points, including four blocks from Michelle Gumabao, and Diana "Tots" Carlos delivered 16 points.
Meanwhile, Creamline’s game captain and setter, Jia De Guzman, served out 18 excellent sets. She was also awarded as the Finals MVP for this conference.
This PVL All-Filipino Conference 2023 is quite challenging for the Creamline Cool Smashers, as they played without their team captain, the three-time MVP, Alyssa Valdez. She still supported her team amid her recovery from a right knee injury.
On Thursday, 12,175 fans cheered and supported at the Mall of Asia Arena. The PVL will return in 2023 Invitational Conference after the Southeast Asian Games in June.
