The rapid heartbeat
And the phrases
That came out of my lips
Appeared to go together.
I hope you can pick up
The hidden messages in my glances,
The secret writings
Beneath each respiration—
And the secret desires
In every step of my toes,
As difficult as that may be
To accept or express.
Emotions
Are already pouring
Into the space
Around us.
Saying goodbye was the hardest.
We talked; you moved on;
And I'm still here,
Waiting for you.
But when I saw you
Holding her,
T'was bittersweet
To see you happy.
And at that moment,
at that painful moment,
I knew
It was goodbye.
