Theme: Social Acceptance in One's gender identity
Lost in the meadow of your existence;
Your scent is as gentle as the breeze of freedom;
As free as doves who soar high;
As carefree as dandelion seeds who willingly fly—
I gaze at your dream and witness solace within.
Yet we’re facing loud distorted noises;
From the unsung judgments;
From those whose blood,
is as thick as the crumbling wall,
That flows deep through our precious veins;
A ferocious war we did not seek.
Unnecessary cries; we shed,
From birds whose hearts
Only screamed for freedom.
If the heavens will permit,
To wish upon the galaxy;
To find golden bottles, and seek a genie;
Even to toss a coin in wells of wishes; to ask them.
Ask them to build a structure; a house—
That perceive no prejudice,
Who accepts; who cherishes
Their children’s glee over hatred and bigotry.
