The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) set the deadline for SIM card registration on April 26, 2023, with only a few days left for mobile phone users to comply with the new policy. The government's move to require SIM card registration is aimed at combating criminal activity and improving public safety.

The registration process is simple and can be done either online or in-person by visiting an authorized registration center. Users will need to provide their full name, date of birth, address, and a valid ID, such as a passport or driver's license.

The Philippine government had emphasized the importance of the SIM card registration policy in improving public safety and preventing crime. By requiring users to register their personal information, authorities can trace the ownership of SIM cards used in illegal activities, such as fraud, terrorism, and scams.

With only a few days left before the deadline, the Philippine government urges all prepaid SIM card users to register their SIM cards before the deadline to avoid any disruption to their mobile phone service. Failure to comply with the policy may result in the suspension or deactivation of their SIM card.
