Subject: The burden of eldest daughter

Whispers lost in the winds of despair,

To live and lead a life chosen by their mothers,

Bestowed upon them, with no options given.

A fate bounded to us, there's no escape.

No identity, just an extension of my parents,

I am weak from the beginning and—

I don't want to be like that in my ending,

In order to be called a good child.

In the shadows I watched, oh it must be nice.

To live a life where there's no worries,

To be free from obligations you have to shoulder,

To not be shackled with huge responsibilities.

In the depths of silence, pain resides,

Unsaid dreams, where hope collides.

Aching souls, longing to be released,

Seeking solace, searching for peace.

Until that day, when our souls stilled,

I'll dwell in this abyss, aching for peace,

A taste I dearly miss. For in this yearning,

I find solace in pain, maybe one day, just maybe,

I'll learn how to follow my true dreams.
