Subject: Admiring the beauty of moon
Oh fair Luna... In night's silken gown,
With mantle of mist across your shining crown!
Your light is mysterious, gentle, and profound—
A hidden beauty softly flowing round.
In darkened robe, the night has come;
And stars in myriads adorn the gloom.
Across the lofty sky above, with glittering broom,
They swept the velvet skies' wide room.
As the night takes its last bow,
Luna's beauty stands even more!
Radiant-haired and gazelle-eyed,
In pearly light... glorified.
Mystic sphere up in the sky...
What secrets do your shadows keep?
I ponder as you pass me by—
What dreams upon your surface sleep?
O'er quiet fields and meadows brown,
Her peaceful beams serenely down.
The sleeping earth smiles in her glow,
While zephyrs soften their balm overflow.
My heart finds rest in Luna's smile,
Charmed by her beauty for awhile.
All love and peace around she pours—
This night, my soul her magic adores.
