After a closely contested battle of strategy and patience, Violet captured the Junior High School (JHS) Girls’ Chess championship for Grades 9 and 10 on October 10, overcoming Yellow in a title match that tested both players’ ability to protect their pieces and find the right moves.
The championship match extended across several games as both players continued to compete for the title. Violet maintained a careful approach on the board, checking the safety of her pieces and weighing possible threats before making each move.
“I’m really taking my time to see if that piece is okay and safe po,” Violet stated, explaining how she assessed her moves throughout the match.
Her patience and careful piece placement helped her secure the championship.
“The winning part is since clean naman po ang paglalaro ko, I felt happy and very proud of myself,” she said, expressing pride in her performance throughout the match.
