Subject: waiting for someone, love that never met

I hope and hoped that a day could be seen;
Where embracing you would be no more than a dream.
For every second, every hour, and every year
All is lost, all seems to fade or so it may seem.

Yet what else is there to be done?
But to wait for a person meant to be gone.
One can only wait and wait—
Until the sun rises and the evening turns late.

And if in this life our vows may not be drawn together;
Then in the land of peace and joy, I shall wait for you further.
Thought it may seem that treachery is upon me,
For the person I seek was never placed within reach.

And if what I feel is not real—
Then why does it ache when you are nowhere near?
Got devoted to a being born out of thin air;
Yet still it made thy heart be in flare.

Why is such fate given to thee?
Is it such a unique soul to bear this ill will,
Or did it ask for a gift;
It was never meant to receive?

Love, it says, but feels not,
It made only thy heart be wretched into knots.
Only few can keep up with fate;
Whom lives a life waiting alone to age.
