Home Economics (HE) Strand demonstrated a spectacular show with their movements and bagged the crown in the much-awaited Hip-Hop Dance Competition against other representatives of different strands, announced during the Awarding Ceremony at the Danilo V. Ayap (DVA) Gymnasium on November 8, 2023.
Meanwhile, the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) Strand grabbed the first place, followed by the General Academic Strand (GAS), who took second place in the competition.
In an exclusive interview, Acquilles Revilla, member of the Home Economics (H.E.) champion team, shared her thoughts on their most anticipated victory, "For me, Inshock pa rin, why? Hindi naman namin in-expect e. Ibinigay lang namin ang best namin at nagtiwala kami sa coach at sa mga teachers namin." She quoted. "Nagkaisa kami as a group and yeah, this is the result- the best performance. I think the next HE Hip-Hop is history."
Janel Banico, also from the H.E. representative, shared their struggles before the competition, "I was over the moon po kasi we got more than we expected. Before the competition, we kept on pressuring ourselves po na we needed to win because we're not just doing it for ourselves, but also to represent our strand." still overwhelmed by their performance.
"We faced several problems po during our preparation, but because of our teamwork and commitment to what we are doing, we were able to overcome them. I am confident that we did our very best to deserve the title; all our efforts and dedication to this competition have paid off,” she added.
Marked by the inherent power that each piece brought to the stage, the performers left an outstanding performance, greatly to impress the audience and judges. During the competition, various performances were evaluated by the judges including Renz Serrano, Gaveric Dado, and J
