The Home Economics (HE) strand achieved gold in the Senior High School (SHS) singing contest of the 20th Founding Anniversary of Lyceum of Alabang on Wednesday, November 8, at the Danilo V. Ayap (DVA) gymnasium.
Representatives Precious Ann Santiago, Daniela Nideulan, Jiro Losauro, John Rafae Metas, and Clarenz Angeles from HE performed a rendition of pop rock "Liwanag sa Dilim" by Rivermaya.
Fuuges’ R&B hit "Killing Me Softly," sung by Diana Nicole Tobias, Lovie Angellyn Lasola, Harlene Jane LeaΓ±o, and Chrisamel Gutierrez from the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand, successfully emerged in first place.
Participants of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) strand, Jericho Panganiban, Benelyn Delos Santos, Mayumi Gibaga, Lhenert Arciage, and John Denster Somcio took second place with their music performance of Freddie Aguilar’s pinoy folk “Anak.”
Other participants in the contest were from Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS): Gen Paris Masamayor, Elyza Mae Ponte, Allen Raphael Sabaybay, Honey Joy Saclag, and Pauline Knee Torres; from Accountacy, Business, and Management (ABM): Aaliyah Zoe Alacar, Arianne Lou Aromin, Jay Ann Dela Cruz, Aljave Sabado, and Michelle Saro; and from the General Academic Strand and Industrial Art (GAS-IA): Dishae Rhayne Argarin, Princess Petallo, and Rian Jenchel Tulisana.
The singing competition took place at the DVA gymnasium on the Opening Day of foundation week, where Cultural competitions were held, on Monday, October 23.
