The audience sat on the edge of their spots as the APSAM Sportsfest Basketball event took the spotlight today as the Miraculous Medal School (MMS)’s Junior High School Team and Saint Bernadette College of Alabang (SBCA)’s Senior High School Group each claimed their championship title on Saturday, December 9 at PAREF Southridge School.
MMS dropped a huge 80-56 lead against Lyceum of Alabang (LOA) in the JHS Finals; while SBCA's summed up a winning 93-80 mark that spanned four hard quarters as they faced Our Lady of the Abandoned Catholic School (OLACS) for the SHS Finals.
Coming in hot from the JHS Competition, Lyceum of Alabang (LOA) claimed the first place, followed by the Christ the King School of Muntinlupa (CTKC) who won the second spot, and the players from the PAREF Southridge School clinched the third place.
Following the game, the competing SHS teams obtained awards and trophies, with Our Lady of the Abandoned Catholic School (OLACS) taking forward the first place, followed by Lyceum of Alabang (LOA) coming in second, not far behind, Our Lady of the Lake School (OLLS), who claimed the third spot.
Eduardo Racines from MMS attained the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award with his back-to-back shots throughout the game; alongside Justin Daniel Asis, who stood out by countering defenses from the opposing team.
Dave Riel Macaraig from SBCA, attained the MVP title for the SHS Competition, displaying a hardcore defense and play with the support of Errol John Peteros throughout the whole game.
The Mythical 5 honors from JHS were attributed to Von Tolentino from PAREF Southridge School, Raphael Vargas and Karlson De Dios from LOA, Justin Daniel Asis of MMS, and Ronald Toling from Christ the King School for Muntinlupa; meanwhile Karl Cedrick Marcelo from OLLS, Vhinz Schwarzkopf and John Melchor Arroyo of OLACS, and Andrei Vargas of LOA, showcased outstanding gameplay to mark down the Mythical 5 from SHS.
