π—‘π—˜π—ͺ𝗦: “Filipinos commemorates 38th Anniversary of EDSA Revolution” by Alyanna L. Claveria

Filipinos celebrated the 38th anniversary of the People Power Revolution also known as the EDSA Revolution, a campaign of civil resistance against martial law during the reign of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., today February 25.


An "EDSA Freedom Ride" took place at the Ninoy Aquino Monument in Makati City at 7:30 am. Next came the 10 a.m. presentation of the film "The EDSA Story: A People's Victory, A Nation's Glory" at San Juan City's Club Filipino, the site of Corazon Aquino's 1986 inauguration as president.


Meanwhile, at the People Power Monument on White Plains Avenue in Quezon City at 7 P.M, the "EDSA Kahit Saan" concert commenced,  free of charge, with food and retail booths nearby that became available at 2:00 p.m.


Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (PISTON) also organized two rallies to commemorate the anniversary wherein the first rally took place at 1 p.m. at the Department of Tourism on EDSA corner Connecticut, while the second was held at EDSA corner Ortigas at 3:30, announced via Facebook.
