Lyceum of Alabang's Home Economics (HE) strand held a Food and Beverages Services Work Immersion Symposium with the theme “Charting Your Course: Navigating Opportunities in Tourism and Hospitality Management Careers,” aimed to orient the graduating HE students regarding their future possible career paths on April 23, Tuesday, at the Danilo V. Ayap (DVA) Gymnasium.

The first speaker of the event, Ms. Milliene Danelle Franco, an alumni and one of the first graduates of the first batch of the Home Economics strand at the Lyceum of Alabang, shared insights about the daily lives of employees that work in the airline industry. She emphasized in her discussion the importance of accommodation and adherence to guidelines in the airline industry.

“Dito sa industry natin dapat lagi tayong nakangiti, dapat lagi na accommodating at approachable,” she said.

After Ms. Milliene's informative discussion, she invited three students to participate in a flight boarding announcement demonstration on the stage to provide them with valuable hands-on experience.

The second speaker, Christelle, a graduate of a bachelor of secondary education and now the current strand head of the Industrial Arts Strand in the Lyceum of Alabang, discussed the art of coffee and the essential knowledge that every barista should possess. She occasionally gave some useful tips to the students while discussing.

“Mas masarap ang kape kapag simple lang kasi ang number one na tinitignan natin dito ay the taste of the coffee, hindi puro appearance lang,” she stated.

Following her discussion, she conducted a live demonstration of coffee-brewing techniques. She invited the students to come closer to witness the demonstration firsthand and allowed some of them to try grinding coffee beans.

After the demonstration ended, the event concluded as Senior High School's Principal, Mr. Rodrigo Calapan, and Ms. Miguela Arcega awarded the distinguished guest speakers a certificate of appreciation to thank them for their valuable contributions to the day's event.
