The golden sun sank low in the evening sky,
Its fading light kissed your beautiful face as your eyes caught mine.
Within their depth I saw deeper than words could say,
A soul as deep as the sea.
In that gaze I saw past and future,
All that we are and hope to be, beautifully aligned.
Treasures untold lay within that gaze,
Answers to questions I did not know to ask or believe.
Secrets that your smile and dimples dare not speak,
Are hidden in the depths of your dancing eyes.
Like flickering candles' lightβ their mysteries peek,
βNeath lashes soft as down, in windows to your cries.
And within those windows to your very being,
Are treasures more precious than any riches could be.
There I behold the mysteries of who you are,
And fall in love again, as time and time I see.
One look was all it took to lift shadows of doubt,
There in your eyes' warm light I found solace,
Found out what really matters, not status or station or gold,
But souls laid bareβ a love that can never grow old.
As twilight fell and stars began to wink,
In your eyes I saw what words could never think.
To say a bond deeper than language or time,
A love written in lightβ yours and mine.
