Subject: Grandmother
In the peaceful brightness of the sun so light,
Where memories talk soft and bright.
I merely caught a glimpse of you,
And all I could think about was being with you.
With delicate hands, you fashioned the years.
With laughter and wisdom, you lulled my fears.
With crinkled pages of beloved tales,
You whirl the globe with dreams set sail.
In your place where you taught me to grow,
Every petal and leaf holds a fragment of your soul.
Your hands were maps, each line was a trace.
Giggles were shared, and love was embraced.
Every meal shared lets me sense your grace,
In family gatherings, I still see your face.
With every tear that cascades down like summer rain,
Transforms grief and alleviates pain.
I searched your room with longing in my heart,
Hoping you're there playing your part.
But when I opened my eyes—I knew you're gone,
Leavin' me with nothing, with all my hopes withdrawn.
In the quiet hum of the evening's glow,
Your whispers linger, soft and low.
You linger still, dearest grandmother mine,
Whatever happens, I assure you your love will shine.
Oh, grandma, with your silver hair,
Your eyes were lanterns, dazzling and rare.
Thus, I sit here beneath the sun,
With strands of our history forever spun.
Perhaps time maybe has a way of slipping away,
However, in my dream, I can hear you say,
"Even though I venture beyond the sky,
In your heart, dear, I'll never say goodbye."
I could sense the warm breeze.
Reminiscences—a melody of memories.
