Theme: Finding peace in moving on.

“Don’t be a stranger.”

Words uttered and sadly meant.

Couldn’t project in truth; in flesh,

Everything between the two of us.

Left instead without any distinction.

For it was too clumsy to call it love,

but too splendid to ever call it pain—

All these memories I trapped in bay,

Exists solely in the eyes of you and me.

Truly meant more than I care to admit.

Still I regret how I didn't realize it sooner,

Even if all the signs showed the same thing.

I still cherish the days I spent with you.

As we turned the page and found the epilogue,

The safest route, that meant walking away.

Maybe it was just right to not have stopped—

The time it took for us to gradually part ways.

With hope that someday we'll get to look back,

To the moments found to be hard to bear—

And find comfort, to what was once shared.
