Hit K-pop group SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan dominated the music charts since the release of his single “Better Half," featuring the Japanese piano trio Omoinotake.
Released on January 27, the single immediately rose to the top on several streaming services regardless of the idol’s inactivity due to his military service.
As stated by the group’s agency, PLEDIS Entertainment, the song immediately gained the Top 2 spot in the real-time charts of a Korean music service called Bugs on its same day of release at 8 pm KST.
Meanwhile, the song achieved the #27 spot in Worldwide iTunes Song Chart on January 27 as well.
On the following day, “Better Half (feat. Omoinotake)” immediately jumps to #19 on on the same worldwide charts while being #1 in the regional iTune charts of Japan, Philippines, and Thailand on the same day simultaneously.
With the continuous support of the fans and despite the lack of promotion before and after its official release, Jeonghan’s single, joined by its Japanese version—remains on the top of charts as of January 31.
The single remains at #1 on local iTunes charts, #13 on Japanese iTunes, and #5 in Thailand.
Jeonghan’s “Better Half” emphasizes the feeling of firm and unwavering bond with the person’s loved ones in spite of being physically away from them. It is the first musical activity from the SEVENTEEN member since the start of his military service.
