Even a small human can shine bright like the biggest star.
Filipino gymnast Carlos Edriel Yulo bagged Athlete Of The Year (AOTY) award in the 2024 Philippine Sportwriters Association (PSA) Awards Night at the Centennial Hall in Manila Hotel, on Monday, January 27, as he was considered as the unanimous choice after his double-gold finish at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Yulo listed his name in the history charts as he became the second Olympic gold medalist representing Philippines, following Hidilyn Diaz' gold medal triumph at the Tokyo 2021 Summer Games.
Yulo caught the attention of IAM worldwide President and Co-founder Allen Marvin Yu Eder, as the company recognized Yulo as the Brand Ambassador of Choco Barley powdered drink.
“Carlos became the top choice as the face of our popular Amazing Choco Barley powdered drink for bringing home two gold medals for the Philippines,” said Eder.
“He is also the first gymnast to be awarded Athlete of the Year since 1997," he added.
Yulo expressed his gratitude to IAM worldwide and promised to promote better health together with the company.
“Reflecting on this amazing journey, I am ready to embrace better health together with IAM Worldwide. With the AMAZING Choco Barley Powdered Drink, I can set more goals for the coming years. Cheers to the IAM Worldwide family for supporting me," Yulo mentioned.
4'11 gymnast giant Yulo is the first Filipino athlete to bring home two olympic gold medals—a remarkable feat indeed to any athlete or gymnast in the Philippines.
With his unparalled achievements, Yulo placed himself as one of the greatest Filipino athletes of all-time.
