Subject: The Awakening of a Poet’s Heart

I never meant to hold a pen,

To string my thoughts like paper men.

Words were weights I wouldn’t lift,

A fleeting art, a passing drift.

I laughed at those who bared their souls,

Who carved their hearts in verses whole.

Poetry, I used to sayβ€”

Was just a game I wouldn’t play.

But then, I saw you lost in lines,

Tracing truths between the signs.

You read each stanza like a vow,

As if it lived inside you now.

And so, the ink began to spill,

Not by force, but by my will.

I wrote, not asking for a place,

But just to hear you trace my name.
