The Black tiger roared once again.

Carlo "Black Tiger" Biado of the Philippines made a wonderful upset and became the two-time 9-ball champion, as he clinched the World Pool Championship (WPC) 9-ball trophy against the world number one and defending champion Fedor Gorst of the United States of America, 15-13, in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Sunday, July 27 (Philippine time).

This is Biado's third finals appearance and his 2nd 9-ball championship, as he took home the Philippines' fifth WPC trophy, cementing his legacy together with Filipino legends Efren Reyes, Djanggo Bustamante, and Ronnie Alcano.

Biado cleared nine racks in a row from rack 3 to rack 12, after Gorst missed the thin 5-ball cut at the upper left corner in the third rack.

"I am so happy because I am a two-time world champion now and I bring the trophy going home to the Philippines," said Biado.

"This finals is an unforgettable game, because Fedor is one of the best players in the world," he added.

In a test of mastery, Biado collapsed in a safety battle at the 3-ball against Gorst in rack 12, giving Gorst the opportunity for a comeback trail; ending Biado's hot streak, 9-3.

Biado has a chance to end Gorst's momentum in rack 16, as he delivered a dry break and an open table for Biado, but Biado unexpectedly missed the 2-ball because of too much right spin on the cue ball in preparation for the 3-ball, 9-7.

Rack 22 was the hardest rack for Biado; Gorst left him a covered shot on the 2-ball, but Biado executed a magnificent jumpshot.

After that, Biado potted a really tough cut shot on the 7-ball that is really prone to scratch, and lastly, Biado finished the rack with a one-rail bank shot on the 8-ball, 13-9.

Biado, in the rack 23, scratched the ball on the break; that allowed Gorst to clear the table and catch his way up to Biado.

Gorst showed his mastery of the game in the rack 24, as he successfully potted the 2-9 combination, 11-13.

Gorst tied the match in rack 26, as Biado was called for a foul after Gorst's lucky safety on the 2-ball, 13-13.

The trophy slipped in Gorst's hands as he again delivered a dry break in rack 27 that put Biado in the hill, 14-13.

In rack 28, Biado is determined to finish it all and potted the 1 and 6 ball on the break, and then ended the match with a majestic run-out, 15-13.

Biado received a 250,000 US dollar prize pool, the biggest prize pool yet in the history of the World Pool Championships.
