The Violet team defeated the Red team to secure the championship title in the Junior High School (JHS) Boys’ Chess for Grades 7 and 8 on October 10, 2026.
After defeating two other teams in the elimination and semifinal rounds, Violet advanced to the championship match against Red.
The game moved at a brisk pace as both players looked for opportunities to gain an advantage on the board, with Violet eventually sealing the victory to claim the championship.
After the match, the Violet champion credited his faith in God as a key factor in his performance, especially after finishing as the runner-up in last year’s competition.
"Pero ang pinaka-advantage ko is talagang trust din kay Lord," he shared.
Despite the pressure of the gas championship match, he also expressed his enjoyment of the tournament and appreciation for his opponents’ skills.
“Na-enjoy ko, natuwa rin ako sa mga kalaban ko na magagaling din,” he said.
Meanwhile, Red finished as the first runner up, followed by Yellow in second runner up completing the tournament’s final standings.
