600,000 doses of CoronaVac from Sinovac arrived in the Philippines last February 28, the first rollout started in March 1. According to Health Spokesperson Maria Rosario Veigeire, 756 medical frontliners and officials were vaccinated on the first rollout back in March 1. Of this number, only 13 showed adverse event of following immunization. The 13 frontliners experienced common side effects, such as increase in blood pressure, pain in injection site, rashes, headache and nausea.

Because of this news, a lot of people are scared to receive the vaccine from Sinovac, not just because of the side effect but also because of the efficacy rate of 50.4% only. Fortunately, all 13 frontliners were observed, managed and later sent home. No one was admitted in hospital.

525,600 vaccine doses from AstraZeneca also arrived in the Philippines on March 4 and 7; there are no reports about giving the vaccines to the workers and officials but based on the study of AstraZeneca plc., you might experience some side effects but it should not be severe or will not last long. Common side effects include sore in the injection area, aching, tiredness and feeling sick but these are not necessarily bad because they are signs that your immune system has noticed the vaccines and is responding to it.

Moderna and Pfizer BioNTech vaccines also have the same side effects such as fever, chills, tiredness and headache throughout the body were common after the second dose of the vaccines, CDC said.

Multiple surveys and interview were conducted by professionals to convince the people and frontliners to get vaccinated but because of the memories from Dengue vaccines(Dengvaxia), a lot of people refused and are stikk scared to take the risk.
