The filing of candidacy from October 1 to 8 has officially come to an end, leaving Filipinos with strifes about the upcoming election.
Leni Robredo announces her presidential bid last Thursday, as an independent candidate. Later announces her compeer Kiko Pangilinan who is under the LP partylist. Unlike Robredo, who is running as an independent, Pangilinan is running for Vice President under the Liberal Party's flag.
Further on, Bongbong Marcos — Robredo's rival and the son of late Ferdinand Marcos, announces his presidential bid last Wednesday under Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) with no vice president.
Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa has also filed his Certificate of Candidacy last October 8 together with his running mate Christopher "Bong" Go, who files for his candidacy last October 2. The tandem are under PDP-LABAN, a ruling party under the administration of President Duterte.
On the other hand, Manny Pacquiao who is supposed to run under PDP-LABAN, filed his candidacy under Progressive Movement for the Devolution of Initiatives or PROMDI — with his comrade, Lito Atienza on the first day of filing.
Last Monday as well, Isko Moreno and his running mate Willie Ong, a cardiologist who has given his statement last year in Jessica Soho's show saying that, "Walang benefit sa akin eh, it’s bad for my health. Wala naman akong balak magnakaw, 'di ko kailangan 'yung fame." and saying that he's only concerned about the welfare of his sick patients, file their COC under Aksyon Demokratiko.
Ping Lacson for his 2nd time to run as President, now under Partido Reporma together with his partner Tito Sotto, from the Nationalist People's Coalition file their COC last October 6.
