Michael Cinco and other Filipino designers bring a sense of Filipino pride to LA Fashion Week. Michael Cinco put his show on the road to Los Angeles after attending Arab Fashion Week. On the runway, Michael Cinco was not the only source of Filipino pride. Designer Michael Cinco also invited fellow Filipino Chona Bacaoco, aka MM Milano, to strut the runway during Manila Fashion Week. The Iloilo-born designer displayed colorful designs to a full audience, including a children's collection. Rapper EZ Mil was among those in attendance.

Cinco impressed the Hollywood crowd with a range of designs for ladies and men during LA Fashion Week, ranging from futuristic to glow-in-the-dark creations. "I'm very proud, and it's one of my greatest fulfillments to be Filipino, [to] showcase to the world what you got and to show to the world we have a lot of talent," Cinco stated.

"I'm proud [of] all the Filipinos all over the world. We're just so talented and creative, and when people see the schedule, like MM Milano, they think it's an Italian brand. Yes, I'm representing [an] Italian brand. Behind that Italian brand is this very proud Filipino, chasing her dreams and then making the world a better place to live," Bacaoco added.

Cinco identified Bacaoco as a close friend. "We need to support and love one another," Cinco stated.
Meanwhile, Puey Quiรฑones of Los Angeles arrived with a 30-piece collection of Philippine-inspired designs.

"Of course, I wanted to showcase the Filipiniana because I wanted to bring my roots right. If you notice, some of my materials are piรฑa and abaca woven, and I also used our south sea pearls as embellishments for some of the dresses," Quiรฑones explained.

While this was the three Filipinos' first time walking the runways at LA Fashion Week, the trio hopes to leave a lasting impact. Cinco will be establishing an online store soon so that fans may wear his creations without having to pack the catwalks.
