--

"Mira! Wake up, it's election day!" my mom shouted to wake me up.

I didn't know why, but I was always looked down on by my family, and the moment they knew I was voting for a different president, their anger toward me grew even more.

While we were on our way to vote, we were caught in heavy traffic. Because of the traffic, we arrived late.

Luckily, there was still a spot for us to vote. It took us a short time to vote since there was no line anymore.

After some hours, the one chosen to be the president was announced. I wasn't confident about my choice of president because of my family.

When it was announced, I was shocked to hear that the president I voted for won. My family was shocked, too.

The counter said that the opposing president—the person my family was voting for, was about to win. But my vote made it change. Because of my one vote, the president I voted for had one more vote than the opposing president.

My family just accepted what happened and started to treat me normally.

No matter how many times my family convinced me to vote for their presidential bet, I didn't listen to them. I voted for the president whom I truly want. And because of what happened now, I'm proud of my decision. The country was now living in peace because of the new president.
