Theme: Climate Crisis, Forest loss

Creatures wailed on burning woodland.

A young critter woke with his crumbling tree.

When blazing fire met his jet-black eyes,

His paws dashed—quickly!

He ran as far as he could.

As if the sun would explode, he fled;

Yet not so long, his pads set foot on a plastered path.

Lost in a bizarre place of flat gray land.

Wandered beneath the moving sticks of human legs,

With great caution, he strolled; subtly gazed above—

Baffled by mammals with heads of amber skulls.

"When did primates start wearing orange skin?"

Unaware of the existence of workwear, he carried on.

"Huft, Huft, Halump!" and then, "Thud!"

"Clink, Clunk, Crash!" as the empire collapsed.

“O, great lyodur titan gods! Have mercy!”

Yellow as the bumblebee, like colossal canaries on trees;

With metal claws that carved the Earth's prodigious flaw,

With its jaw that guzzled through the verdant vale.

Through the brain of the alloy marionette,

Through the way, it wrecked the eucalyptus barricade.
