Theme: Social Injustice

Cold air across a blazing surface,

As the wheels of these vehicles splash—

Onto the dark water submerged in a long pit,

Causing these fatal pavements to split.

Red lights scatter through the gaze,

Lights from the structures blend in a foggy haze,

Black shadows appear in corners—

Everyone turns a blind eye to all the warners.

The loud crowd and honking horns,

Vendors' clamors and children's howls,

The noise of this town jumbles around,

Where silence is nowhere to be found.

Crimes arise while the power vanishes,

This burgh's regime is in its lustrous fizz,

Lively draining people's souls,

As they stifle their mind and words.

'Tis the place where hundreds of bodies lodge,

Where they have their parts but they dodge—

A scrap of those who lack pity;

They go blind, deaf, and mute in this city.
