Online shopping through different platforms has been widespread in the country. Through a few clicks and browsing, people can easily shop all their necessities, add their wanted objects to their cart, and check out their purchased items. With the advancement of technology, people's lives have really become easier. Yet, as consumers, we should always remember to spend wisely, accordingly, and responsibly.

The rise and growth of e-commerce have been widespread ever since the pandemic happened. According to an article by Chan (2023), during the pandemic, 54% of consumers have made their first online purchase in the country, and 73% of new online shoppers plan to continue buying online once the restrictions are lifted. This is anticipated as online shopping has become prevalent in this time.

Shopping online has been very beneficial to us, shoppers and consumers.

Furthermore, it also provides better job opportunities for small businesses and transportation industry workers. Nevertheless, no matter what, as a buyer of said items online, there are also different advantages and disadvantages of said e-commerce.

Through shopping online, customers can buy items from the comfort of their own homes or their workplaces (accountlearning, n.d.). It is convenient, time saver, and it also helps us consumers to save more money by having coupons or vouchers from said e-commerce platforms.

In spite of its positive effects, it also provides many disadvantages to us shoppers. One of them is the shipping charges and how they add to the expensiveness of the said products. Second is the delay of delivery, or how it sometimes takes too long to arrive from our home. Lastly, fraud sellers had also appeared on other online shopping platforms, which is why shoppers should always analyze the legitimacy of said stores and products first before checking it out.

As a buyer, we also have different responsibilities when ordering online. That is, to always check and be dutiful according to the products we bought. Also, before we add something to our cart, pondering and weighing the product if it is really necessary to be bought should be greatly considered. Spending wisely and avoiding extravagant things is a must.

Lazada, Shopee, Shein, and more. There are many e-commerce platforms that we can easily shop with. However, it is still up to our decision on what shops we prefer for purchasing our products— physical or online. What matters is that we should always consider our safety on buying our desired items. Reminder to shop wisely, not indecisively.
