Honestly, it's hard to look at the silver lining

A glass half full, a valiantly pitiful attempt

Like fine dining with absurd amounts of debt

Or luxurious liabilites that won't follow you after death

To find reason to smile is often very challenging

Knowing that every story would eventually reach its ending

The cameras stop rolling as curtains roll out

Concluding the film without a sequel or an alternative route

"Look at the bright side", they said

"Be happy it even happened,” such ludicrousy

I'm at a point where no hug could mend

My deepest of wounds to any sort of extent

Funny how reality is predicably disappointing

But still, we kept on waiting, and waiting

For miracles to happen, but it never does

Hope is, after all, a highly addictive substance
