Subject: Unrequited Love

As the two of us crossed paths, a fiery love came.

Yet why do I feel that love’s a repetitive game?

Is it my heart, the hopeless romantic's frame,

Or the longing to ignite your name in love's sweet claim?

Decisions are to blame, in my mind came a hurricane.

But here you are, you reclaim.

In this black heart of mine, you kindled a flame.

This might even sound clichΓ© or lame,

But I hope that you’d stay the same.

Lead me up in the stairway,

Like it’s the hall of fame.

Your love is flawless,

No issues to name.

I’d say these words, no shame.

For you’re a knight, I am your dame.

Hold my hand and put on a chain.

Darling, I dream of bearing your last name.

Even when life's trials leave me strained,

All I need is one bottle of champagne,

But our friendship would be in vain.

Thoughts lingered, disdained.

Unspoken feelings, words held in restrain.

Love's palette left its mark, a vivid stain,

My feelings remained,

Still hoping you’d kiss me under the gentle rain.

In the end a friendship blossomed,

Yet love's path left untamed.
