Subject: Rebuilding the self

Of the many mysteries shrouded from our eyes,

None are as fickle as the beast we shall call love.

Prowl, primal animal, prowl! For the very lies-

We had once held as dear truths are all we will have,

Once the flames have extinguished and the smoke dispersed,

To reveal the charred remains of what was worshipped.

Friend, rinse thy red eyes with the ashes of your soul,

Do not falter at the sight of your weeping coil.

Let your spirit shiver in the midst of turmoil,

In the morning, you shall find yourself once more whole.
