Films, series, and movies are engrossing narratives that develop through a series of striking images; they usually grace and dance across your screens—a mesmerizing journey through the art of storytelling.
The quickest way to steal someone’s heart is through series. So, what is your favorite? Mine is Fleabag!
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a brilliant woman with numerous talents. She established a lasting legacy in television and movies as a writer, producer, and actor.
𝗣𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀
As her talent flows, the media gathers and awards are put in her hands altogether. Phoebe Waller-Bridge accumulated a total of thirty-three wins and twenty-seven nominations. Starting in the year 2014, Waller-Bridge won a Critics’ Circle Theatre Award for having the Most Promising Playwright.
In the same year, she also gathered two awards at The Off West End Theatre Awards for having the Best Female Performance and having the Most Promising New Playwright, all because of Fleabag. In the year of 2019, Waller-Bridge bagged 3 Awards at the Primetime Emmy Awards. All about being an Outstanding Writing, Lead Actress, and The Comedy Series Fleabag itself.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗱𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗴
In the year of 2016, Phoebe Waller-Bridge starred in two series. But one of them stood out the most, that is Fleabag. Fleabag, in which the story revolves around a sharp-witted woman named Fleabag faces tragedy head-on in the colorful turmoil of London. She rejects all attempts at help, unaffected by empathy, and uses her sardonic humor as a defense mechanism against everyone who tries to soothe her wounds.
Following her on an urban voyage as she deals with relationships and day-to-day living while telling a moving story of fortitude in the face of loss and social expectations. Fleabag is one of the series that kicked off a few years back and until now it gains new fans as day pass by, all because of the exceptional storyline and unique strategies portrayed inside the series.
𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹
In the majority of scenarios, actors in movies, or even television shows, are not interacting with the viewers. The stories flow naturally, with actors interacting with their fellow characters. However, Fleabag herself violates through the fictitious wall that divides the story, its characters, and audience members, which contributes to making the Fleabag series substantially interesting. Simply by making eye contacts, viewers gain the ability to relate to Fleabag on a more personal level because she clearly acknowledges their existence and anticipates that these people are watching her.
This makes the audience get the idea that Fleabag is a person of actuality who recognizes that they get to hear her thoughts as she "confesses" to them.
𝗘𝘆𝗲-𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀
Fleabag, the series not only is extraordinary and exceptional throughout Hollywood, but it also demolished the standard of how women should write.
Waller-Bridge openly included scenes that are grotesque, visually, and mentally. For example, Fleabag herself is struggling to cope with her best friend who passed away because her best friend’s boyfriend cheated. Later on, the story revealed that it was Fleabag, who the boyfriend cheated on with. It is not usual that a main character of a story does unquestionable things, Fleabag herself also steals, lie, swear, and even say undeniably gross things at every scenario.
Fleabag is full of imperfections, and it perfectly depicts women. Fictional characters are not always the “good and perfect” girl. They can have insecurities, bad sides, and even face worst case scenarios just like we always do.
Fleabag perfectly encapsulates that being imperfect and real are also appreciated and that seals all the deal.
