Princess Zandra Grace Ballon from the Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) strand took the top honor as she outshined other Senior High School (SHS) representatives from various strands as Lyceum of Alabang (LOA) commemorated its 21st Founding Anniversary with an impressive declamation contest in the Audio Visual Room (AVR) on Tuesday, October 22.

In an interview following the announcement of winners, Ballon, the hailed champion of the contest, stated that she faced several ordeals and challenges in her execution of the piece entitled, “The Voice of an Orphan” that was provided to each of the contestants.

“Napakahirap i-deliver ng piece, sa pag-internalize palang, since dun sa piece palang about sya sa nawalan ng magulang. Dito ako nagkaroon ng struggle; kung mae-execute ko ba sya ng tama sa crowd kasi the last piece that was given to me was different from this piece,” she said.

Ballon added by expressing her sincerest gratitude to God for her win, stating, “With just provision po, naniniwala po ako na ang Lord po ang gumawa non at hindi po ako.”

Ballon secured victory in the competition with an outstanding average score of 99%, and was closely followed by Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand, which earned the first runner-up position with an average score of 98%.

Meanwhile, Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) strand followed in as second runner-up with a score of 97%, while the GAS-IA Strand rounded out the top contenders as they claimed the third runner-up position with a score of 95%.

As the event successfully drew to an end, heartfelt applause from the audience erupted—the students, teachers, and faculty members all cheered while acknowledging the excellence and dedication displayed by the six contestants throughout the competition.
